Improviser

I started acting in elementary school, and have been passionate about traditional theatre since then. But my true love, and the art form that has had the most profound impact on my career, is improv. From co-founding my college improv troupe to performing with some of America’s best known comedy theatres, I am so grateful for all the experiences this art form has given me.

Selected Improvisation Credits

  • Dad's Garage Theatre Company, Alanta, GA

Dad’s Garage is the place that first ignited my love of improvisation. It is a unique company that presents 52 weeks of improvisation per year along with a season of fully produced scripted theatre. I went from audience member, to student, to apprentice improviser and paid actor, to teacher, paid improviser, writer, and director. My artistic home from 2006 - 2013, I still love to drop in and play or teach a workshop whenever I can.

  • The Second City, Chicago, IL

The most well-known non-televised sketch comedy institution in North America. I performed as an improviser, writer, actor, and teacher with the Second City from 2013-2018. My time with the company included performing on a cruise ship, touring shows and teaching workshops across the US, and a short stint as a permanent replacement understudy on the Mainstage.

  • The Annoyance Theatre, Chicago, IL

My artistic home in Chicago from 2014 until 2020. The Annoyance fosters artists in a way that no other company in Chicago does, offering space for up and coming writers and performers to find their voice and artistic identity. I am an original cast member of the ‘choreographed’, improvised long form Trigger Happy, conceived and directed by Mick Napier. Additionally at The Annoyance I directed a ‘student’ version of Trigger Happy, performed my one-woman show, and wrote and performed in the sketch revue Mind Games.

  • Laughing Matters, Atlanta, GA

As Atlanta’s longest running improv company, Laughing Matters has been producing improvised shows and workshops for nearly 35 years. With them I got the opportunity to perform improvised shows and comedy murder mysteries as well as teach corporate workshops and lead team building events.

  • Laugh Out Loud, Schaumburg, IL

Laugh Out Loud specializes in short form improvisation, which is a bit of an anomaly in the Chicago area. Their shows are fast, fun, and uproariously funny. I not only improvised with Laugh Out Loud, but I also taught improv classes and sketch comedy writing for the company.

  • Improv Acadia, Bar Harbor ME

Improv Acadia was a seasonal improv theatre that operated during the summer in Bar Harbor, ME. Founded by two veterans of the Chicago improv scene, the owners brought in the best talent from across the US to play in this company every year. I was proud to be a company member of Improv Acadia in 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2019, which was their final season.
